Hi Jean,

Would it be possible to add the "Now" button for both the Natal and the Transit horoscope?
Since we are modifying both of them by seconds, minutes, hours, etc, to return to the NOW value would be very useful.

Even after reintalling PD, that module still freezes.

I don't know, maybe it's because that Porting kit I'm using to install PD on my Mac, if for you there is no error.

So ... I'll have to dig deep what happened with that Porting kit first

Hi Jean,

I'm not sure if it only happens to me, but when I try to access: Horoscope / Various / Equal Housesytems and try to choose whatever option from there (Equal/1=Aries, or anything else) it's freezing the whole program.

Could you, please, reproduce and let me know if it happens to you as well?

Hi Gigi,

Use Draw to draw the conjunct arabics in the current horoscope, set options orb for the Orb.
If options Draw all is not set, only conjunctions are drawn.

If you changed the selection of one of the 4 texts and want to switch to another, use Save to save the current selection.

Hi,

I have searched in PD for a way to cast a chart where the birth time is unknown, but, unfortunately I wasn't able to find it.

So, please help me to achieve this.

This will also affect the house drawing and the interpretation module, cancelling the planets positions in the houses, leaving only their positions in the signs and the aspects between them.

For drawing the wheel I saw Astro-seek opted for setting the Aries 0 degree on the left, which is fair enough.

I tried to simulate this in PD but I couldn't remove: house positions from the left, house numbers from the wheel, the Asc-Desc axe and, obvioulsy, the interpretation section regarding the house positions and planets in house.

Yes, it's a good workaround
Is not possible to show EET, or the time zone, right?

Anyway, is better to have only coordinates, instead of that long name

Hi Jean,

Please help me. I have some misunderstandings with the time zone.

In "maketext.ab" I have

strset(b, "%l %s born on %s at %s in %s", "Interpretation for", s, ds, ts, plc);

is resulting in:

"Interpretation for Ana born on 29/10/1980 at 23:51:00 in Bacau, Romania, 26e54, 46n34, Europe/Bucharest"

The last info, Europe/Bucharest is the time zone, but it could be a little confusing, since the city of birth is Bacau and the last city, Bucharet, could be understood as being the birth city, which is not.

Seeing in the help of AstroBasic that the flag 0 returns time zone, I changed

gethoroscopeplace(0, plc, 1) to gethoroscopeplace(0, plc, 0);

but, unfortunately it returned a number, 317

Interpretation for Ana born on 29/10/1980 at 23:51:00 in Bacau, Romania, 26e54, 46n34, 317"

This 317 must be the time zone (EET, in this case) but how to make it showing EET instead of 317?

Of course they are not mine. I only translated them to English in order to provide them to you for having that possibility in the PD to analyze the retrograde planets.
To be honest, I don't like them either.

But, as it is the possibility to have Ruler of house X in house Y and Ruler of X is in Z sign and N house and not all the text files from PD contain interpretations for this, I thougt that technical possibility is independant of the existence of texts. Anyways, everyone could enter his own text, but at least to have the possibility to do this.

But I understand, if you don't agree to work for this module, there is no problem 

The workaround for this is to add at each text another paragraph: "if the X is retrograde, then ..."

PD is a treasure with or without this small request!

Hi Ed,

My modification of the maketext.txt file is a very very small one and is just for aesthetics and adding some words in the header of the file and at the title of each paragraph, just for a more easier and human reading. So it's nothing of a technical nature. I mostly wanted to learn how to edit, using Astro Basic.

My idea about introducing retrograde planets in the interpretation report, I think you agree, is a useful one, as there is a big difference between the influence of a direct and a retrograde planet.

I fully understand that it is a lot of work to make this change and that's why I also said I would wait until it's ready, so it's not the slightest problem.

As Jean asked, I sent him the file containing all possible interpretations of the retrograde planets, with the structure I described above:

1) first Retrograde planets - general semnification with codes from [mer retro gen] to [plu retro gen]
2) then, for each retrograde planet, their interpretation first in signs [mer retro ari], then in house [mer retro 1] ... until Pluto

Yes, I figured out how to do it. This is how I edited the "maketext.ab" file

And following your previous instructions, yes, I ran it and it makes a blank window (800x600) with a small menu

Thank you for your appreciation (maybe Mercury in the first house of Sagittarius makes me so curious and eager to learn, or maybe Uranus in the 10th house, or maybe the Cybernetics faculty I finished almost 30 years ago).

I immediately downloaded the update and ... you made me a real surprise by modifying that file. Yes, it looks very good (although maybe I'll modify it again, but you've made me ambitious to learn  ).

The need to have the retrograde planets in the interpretation report is an obvious one and you agree as well, but I will do my best to provide you with the requested files.

I know I bother you a lot, but this request is not burning  , so please take your time to reflect on this and you could answer whenever you have the necessary mood and time.

I also think this request is a benefit for all the users of PD, not only for me.

I made some changes, mostly cosmetic, to the "maketext.ab" file. If you think it's worth it, you can insert it in a new version, obviously with other modifications of your own, as you see fit.

I did this in an attempt to make some changes to the interpretation report, to make it nicer, but also more useful.

Considering the wealth of information in the PD, my opinion is that it is a pity that it is not used in the interpretation report.

In "maketext.ab" I would like to find:

1) how to put after "Interpretation for X ... born on ... in place ..."

I think it's the variables

gethoroscopetime

Syntax: real gethoroscopetime(char Index, int Time[6], real *JulianDay);

and

gethoroscopeplace

Syntax: gethoroscopeplace(char Index, char Name[], char flag);


I tried in so many ways to enter them, but I gave up.

2) I also think it would be useful to have retrograde planets in the report, something like that:

Saturn retrograde in Taurus
Saturn retrograde in 5th house

This would result in 2 sets of interpreation codes: [sat in tau] and [satr in tau] / [sat in 5] and [satr in 5]. Or, if you want to change all the codes, you could declare them of 4 characters like [satd] - for Saturn direct and [satr] - for Saturn retrograde.
I think this solution of 4 chars you won't accept it, because maybe this would imply many other changes in many other places, so it's up to you to find a solution.
(Yes, I know it would result in 108 new codes, but please think of how useful this thing would be for all the users).

3) another point of interest I think would be the element scores
Fire X%, Water Y%, ...

I think it would result in a very useful and aesthetically beautiful interpretation report.

I would be so proud to brag to others with such an interpretation report that other astrology softwares don't have
