there's a 60 character limit for a name in a horoscope. This can not be changed, sorry. It's part of the original design in 1984 or something.

it's (and always has been) at horoscope - extra :)

Yes it does, it's not perfect, there is no perfect one, but it's doing fine.

Calculate does not do anything over here. I'm sure Ed will look at it.

Planetdance in Action! / Re: Extra Asteroids
« on: January 19, 2023, 02:07:16 PM »
Hello,

1. No, i'm not gonna do that sorry, what you can try is go to http://www.astro.com/ftp/swisseph/ephe/longfiles/ and download the .se1 yourself and copy to c:\planetdance\eph, then adjust c:\planetdance\time\asteroids.txt
2. Look at Time - extra asteroids, there you can search for periods.

Planetdance for windows / Re: Opensource the Code?
« on: January 16, 2023, 08:01:20 PM »
Planetdance is made with two languages, c/c++ and astrobasic.
The framework i use is borland c++builder 6 which is not available anymore so you'd have considerable trouble using that, besides i don't want to make it open source, the framework not being available is one of the reasons.
Pd also contains the astrobasic language and those are open source meaning you can contribute or write modules of your own.
Do Help / F1 and look at astrobasic. Also Application - Edit.

As i told you, Filemanager, time list etc work fine. This is not vedic only software. You can add the southnode, see options objects and read the help there.

Very glad to hear most is solved, you should indeed not install planetdance to c:\program files, it has not enough rights there.
I replied to your email so we can close this topic for now.

If pd crashes just when starting up and giving an empty screen, there's a log file at c:\planetdance\log.txt, please send to jean@jcremers.com

Thanks Jean for your answer.

I followed your advice and tried another laptop.
Bad luck, I think.

I don't have an explanation for this. It works for almost everybody else. If i can help, let me know.

Planetdance is only x86, and the dll's are fine.
But there's obviously something that messes things up there. By the way you sound, i'm not very optimistic about your pc, maybe there's memory faulty or something, but i don't get reports from others telling that everything gives errors.

What you can do is be precise, tell me exactly which module gives a runtime error and on what line, that might give me a clue but as said, i'm not optimistic, i've seen bad pc's before and this just smells like one.

my advice: try another pc.

General Astrology Topics / Re: Query example for Uranian Astrology?

ps Chris,
If you are interested in astrobasic, the query feature generates a script and runs that, it is at c:\planetdance\time\query.ab.
