Hi - thanks for the picture. In theory this isn't difficult to do. We would just need the longitudes of the cusps of the divisions. This could then be an option within Planetdance, or part of a separate module. The Vedic Nakshastras have glyphs/images. Without these, the different mansions would have to be identified with numbers of brief codes. Are the mansions tropical or sidereal?

Jean has now published this update. It is recommended to update if you are a regular user of the Ed Greek Horoscope module.

Thanks Jean - that's good news. Astrobasic really makes some amazing things possible.

It's great that new coders are joining in with the development of Planetdance.

Thanks Vivian.

Classic, Medieval, Vedic / v. 14.134 - 8 December 2020 - bug fixes
« on: December 08, 2020, 07:23:44 AM »
Hi there - with any release there are often a few bug fixes. V.14.134 fixes a bug with the table of dignities switch, which impacted on the kurios and oikodespotes of soul listings on the main window. Please download for the latest version.

Any problems let me know.

Hi - no problem - happy to help. If you have added functionality to the script, it would be really helpful to share the code. It might be something that can be added back into the script for others to benefit from.

Glad that you are enjoying Planetdance.

Hi there - there is a menu item with information about the visibility of planets and whether they are rising or setting with respect to the sun in the Ed Greek Horoscope module. This gives some basic information. If you want the actual dates etc when planets become visible with respect to the sun that is something different and not implemented yet. It's a tricky thing to calculate.

The next version of Ed Greek Horoscope is nearly ready - this version will be a significant update.

Here are some screenshots.

Thanks Jean - that'll be a good addition to the help.

Hi there - you might need to use:

Syntax: getlonlat(char Index, real *Lon, real *Lat)

Action: gets the longitude and latitude of the place from horoscope 'Index'.

Please note: PlanetDance follows the convention of the Swiss Ephemeris calculation routines. Western longitudes are negative, Eastern are positive.

You don't mention if you have filled lon and lat. I think this would be needed to calculate the houses. You could then use gethousepos().

It might be easier if you post the code lines you are using.

To create an array with the longitudes of house cusps use gethouses().

From the help:

Syntax gethouses(char Index, real houses[12]);

Action: Gets the houses from internal horoscope 'Index' and puts them into the array 'houses'

Note, the constant 'HOUSES' equals 12.

real houses[HOUSES];
gethouses(0, houses);

If this doesn't work, let me know. Ed

Hi PJ - thanks for the data. I've checked the chart - it's a very interesting case! I'm not sure about including a switch for sect, to change nocturnal to diurnal and back again. Sect is very integral to the script and many of the methods and it would be a challenge to debug all the code. When I have these cases I tend to cast the chart with the data as given, and then experiment by altering the time using the up/down buttons on the toolbar to alter the minutes. You can then open the Greek Horoscope module and check the changes. If you do Horoscope-Save As and create a second chart, then you can open Ed Greek for each chart and compare side by side.

Let me know what you think of this option.

Hi there - can you send me the data of the case please and then I can take a look at it. These are interesting charts and the questions often comes up about diurnal/nocturnal where the sun is very close to the ascendant.

Thanks. Ed
