Tyl Chart Synthesis
« on: May 02, 2021, 12:57:49 PM »
Groetjes, Karouchka

Hi there - this is an explanation of the solar arc method:

Solar arc direction is one of the oldest predictive techniques in astrology. Solar arc is defined as the difference between the position of the progressed Sun and natal Sun on any particular day. This arc is then added to every planet and point in the chart. The arc is approximately equivalent to the individual's age. However, note that a person born in the summer will have a solar arc that is somewhat less than their age and, conversely, a winter-born individual's solar arc will be greater than their age.

So the solar arc may be more or less than one degree of solar motion per day, depending on the time of year in which the birth occurs.

The one degree method directs all points by exactly one degree per year, irrespective of the time of year of birth.

Naibod arc directs the points by the average daily solar motion which is 59 minutes and 8 seconds of arc (360 degrees / 365 days).

I hope that helps.

I came across the Tyl Chart Synthesis module today in my exploration of Planetdance and was simply perplexed.
The module has exactly all the methods I have been working with for the last years, except the 165 degree aspect and the sun houses.
And the crazy thing is, that I know Noel Tyl by name and also own a book by him, but I have not read it until today, for whatever reason. That's crazy.
So I'm very grateful for the module today because it makes my work easier, because I have everything in one place.
Many thanks Ed, and get well soon.

I also have some suggestions for the future ;D
on how to improve the 90 degree diagrams here, and the 45 degree diagrams in the cosmobilogy module, to make them easier to read for untrained users.
See attached graphics

Thanks Volker - I tried to recreate Noel Tyl's methods as closely as possible. There's still some things to do, but essentially most of his methods are in the module. Thanks for the ideas for the graphic ephemeris. Best wishes. Ed
