Witte's Uranian Astrology - beta for testing
« on: October 29, 2022, 06:32:34 PM »
Hi there - this script is for Uranian astrology, as developed by Alfred Witte and others at the beginning of the c.20.

This is a beta release for testing. I have removed as many of the bugs that I can find. However, please let me know here if you find any other glitches.

I have coded this using the best of my knowledge of Uranian astrology, but it's not really my thing so if you find any errors let me know.

I hope you enjoy using this module.

Hi Ed,
Look, it's ok except for the columns on the left, the R symbol gets overwritten.
i also tried setsymbolsize(1) on this one, also ok but for those R's.
Also, i saw the comments, this is an older script?

Thanks Jean - I'll take a look at that tomorrow. I worked on the script in the spring because of a request to adapt the cosmobiology module. It was complicated for a number of reasons, and the individual felt they couldn't devote any more time to helping with debugging. I think I've resolved the issues now, so decided to release it as a beta for any one who would like to test it and give feedback.

Looks ok Ed. Also with setsymbolsize(1), can you add it?

There's yet no functionality in scripts to do the same for the objectsymbols, will have to look into that sometime.

Hello and huge thank your for this work on the Uranian astrology module.

I did not see the "Aries Point" on the wheels unless I miss it ? If it is simple to point the AP on the first wheel, it is less easy on the 2nd wheel.

In any case, I'm already using this module and I am sure it will be a awesome one very soon :-)

All the best

Hello ABer,

Just to point out what seems (to my little knowledges so far...) to be a calculation problem in the Uranian module (but also in the Cosmobiology module).

I wanted to have a look on the eclipse of April 20th at 06:17 (Paris time) this year, but since the Uranian (and the Cosmobiology) module does not allow to specify the "time" of the transit it is a bit more difficult to see the midpoints and other aspect of this exact time transit... the modules seems to take only into consideration the time of the "birth chart".

Would it be difficult to allow users to specify the time for the transit on the Uranian and the Cosmobiology modules ?

Thank you in advance for your answer and your time.
All the best.
Wunjo :-)

What you could try is first calculate an eclips, transit etc, then use the Uranian module on that.

Hi Wunjo - thanks for the feedback. I will bear this in mind for the future. At present I don't have time to pick this up. Jean's suggestion is what I would recommend as well. Let us know how it goes.

Yes Jean but it is much less easy to see the planetary figures linked with the natal chart.

Anyway, this module is already a big help as it is and I'm happy to have it. I'm sure Ed will improve it over time.

All the best

Hi Wunjo - I don't quite follow what you are looking for. If you use the cosmogram display it will show the natal chart in the inner wheel. This calculation is based on the original timed chart from the main planetdance screen. The function to change the date is to show transits and directions etc. If you could clarify this it would help me understand your need.

Hello again Ed,

If the birth time in the natal chart is "far" from, in the case of an eclipse time for instance, it is not easy to see the planetary figures between both charts (natal and transit).

From Paris, the eclipse on April 20th is at 6h17am and the Sun is in Aries at 29°55 and the Moon is in Taurus at 1°... but in the modules, the transit does not display both planets in conjunction because the calculation is done with the natal birth time = 2h50pm.

All the best
Wunjo.

Ed

Ed, may I suggest the following :

If the "midpoints" module in "theme" included transplutonians, that would be more than great!

Would it be difficult to include this module in your A. Witte's Uranian Astrology module?

II hope not to bore you with all my suggestions and questions :-/?

All the best
Wunjo
