Request to Add #1930 "Lucifer" Asteroid
« on: November 08, 2022, 09:00:05 PM »
I noticed some websites offer you the opportunity to track the asteroid Lucifer (sometimes just #1930) and was wondering if you could somehow put that into the program if it is not in there already. I would like to monitor and experiment with this asteroid in my readings.

I might add some generic module where you can download ephemerides from astro.com. If so, i will post here.

Let the rocks roll.
It's really intended to download a few you are interested in, not the whole 22171 :)
There are people that swear by it, i'm not one of them.
I like that it works though, was fun to do, downloaded ones now also show up in horoscope data as long as there is room for them.

Hi Jean - it's not my thing either, but people enjoy them. Did you know:

342843 = Davidbowie
495181 = Rogerwaters

Asteroids definitely are the new rock 'n' roll!

 :-\ ::)

Never mind, thank you.
In fact you were correct, it should also be possible to see a wheel and aspects, that's done now.

I'm still updating this, you might want to check latest versions.

I have downloaded version 11/13/2022 00:37 as of this writing. Been stress-testing this feature all day and so far nothing buggy at all. Works beautifully.

I also checked Options > Objects > Asteroids and there is a nice overlap.

So in case anybody was wondering some Asteroids were already in the program under that setting. If you already had the those usual asteroids and don't want the redundancy just go in Time > Extra Asteroids and then highlight the asteroid you don't want and select "Delete Asteroid" from the top (you can always download it again from that list). So now you can download custom asteroids that weren't already native to the program and they will show up when you go to
Horoscope > Extra> Asteroids

Since some time, ephemerides of Ceres, Pallas, Vesta, Juno, Chiron and Pholus have been reintegrated and don't need special ephemerides., You can delete them from the list, so they won't show up in extra asteroids, but there is no ephemeris that gets deleted.

Just added a checkbox to show / hide planet positions so the asteroid names are more clear.
