Thanks Jeremy - that's very helpful to have the translation. The maths seems pretty simple to me. From what I understand the method is primarily about oblique ascension.

Hi Jeremy - I've started looking at the domitude chart. This screen shot shows an early prototype. The positions in Q1 and Q3 seem right, but the positions for Petit in Q2 and Q4 are not correct. I'll keep looking at it. One thing that's a bit unclear to me is the logic for determining which quadrant planets are in, taking account of latitude and declination. I think once I've worked this out it should be ok. Ed

Hi Ed
very nice of you thinking to this module

I have no more info about the calculations, if I find I tell you.

Hi - it would be helpful to have a couple more examples. If you add them as screenshots and I can take a look at them. Ed

Hi again - is there a chance you could post any data listings from your software that is associated with these charts, eg. planetary longitude, declination, latitude and right ascension. It would be helpful to check that PD and your alternative software are using the same basic data.

Thanks. Ed

Thanks Jeremy - that's very helpful. I should be able to check that the basic data is the same with these listings. Ed

Hi Jeremy - I think I've got it. See screenshot.

In the end the algorithms looked like this:

` q1
      if (normalize(-ramc + RA) <= 90)
         r = 270 + (90 * (normalize(-ramc + RA - 360)) / dsa);
      ` q2
      if (normalize(-ramc + RA) >= 270)
         r = 270 - (90 * ((360 - normalize(-ramc + RA)) / dsa);
      ` q3
      if (normalize(-ramc + RA) > 180 && normalize(-ramc + RA) < 270)
         r = 90 + (90 * (normalize(-ramc + RA - 180)) / nsa);
      ` q4
      if (normalize(-ramc + RA) > 90 && normalize(-ramc + RA) < 180)
         r = 90 - (90 * ((180 - normalize(-ramc + RA)) / nsa));

These look different to the published versions, but I couldn't get those to work. There's a few minutes of arc difference, but the underlying data is slightly different so this is to be expected.

Best wishes. Ed

already very very well  :)

would it be possible to have the aspects between planets cause that is a great part of domitude to have knew connections

details : R ( retrograde or various symbol ) here uranus

bravo !

Hi Jeremy - no problem. I will keep you up to date with developments here. Now the underlying algorithm is worked out the rest should be fairly easy.

yep
genial Ed. If you can keep the possibility of being able to display in 360 arc

well done !

that's what i meant :)
The choice of aspects I imagine depends on what is checked in the preferences

Hi - this is module is now ready for release:

Horoscope-Various-Domitude: v.2.08 - initial release

This module is an introduction to domitude, a method of analysing the positions of planets placed in the diurnal circle.

The method looks beyond the placement of planets in the zodiac using longitude positions, to take account of the celestial latitude and declination of planets.

For more information, see: https://jcremers.com/forum/index.php/topic,37.0.html

For a critical appraisal of the method see: http://www.astralis.it/pguinard_e.htm
