Hi db - thanks for the message. I'm going to be out of circulation and unable to do anything until November I'm afraid. I've been working on this in the background and I've come to the conclusion that Frawley is correct. It's not possible to use my original methodology to predict matches.
John Frawley, in his Sports Astrology books, points out the limitations of a method such as the one I devised on p. 83.
Frawley writes: "FORGET ESSENTIAL DIGNITY. FORGET ACCIDENTAL DIGNITY. FORGET RECEPTIONS....we need such a sensitive instrument for this investigation. Consider: horary questions about sport can be asked at any hour of the day....The matches themselves, however, begin only at a limited range of times. Especially if we are concerned only with one particular sport.....If we allows these slow-changing testimonies into judgement, we would give all these matches the same result....So we must go for the ephemeral."
In my view, Frawley is absolutely right, and there is now no doubt in my mind that this is why my methodology failed, despite some promising results. The next option is to explore his methodology in more detail. Frawley focuses on the Moon, Fortune, antiscions in his method and he claims that he gets good results. When I experimented with this last year, it did seem promising, but I need a more rigorous set of trials. Unfortunately this will have to wait until later in the year.
All the best and enjoy the football!
