Medieval Mundane Methods
« on: September 10, 2023, 01:11:47 PM »
Hi there - this is a beta release for a new module which allows users to explore traditional mundane methods.

There is an extensive helpfile incorporated. This is accessed by a tab specific button.

You can download the script from the attachments section below, and copy the file to your Medieval folder within Planetdance. When you restart the program it should be visible as a new file.

Please leave any feedback here.

Many thanks to Sindy for some initial testing which was very helpful.

19 June 2024 - edit

Beta v.2.27 attached below.

6 July 2024 - edit

v.2.29 - added option to transfer four ingress charts to the main planetdance window

17 August 2024 - edit

v.2.31 - fixed some errors in planetary scores table.

Best wishes. Ed

Hi there - a further bug fix:

` v.1.107 - fixed bug for sidereal zodiac users, search extended in calcIngress to allow for adjustment of time window to enterTime + 30 days
` ingresses for sidereal zodiac occur roughly 20-30 days later depending on ayanamsa

Hi there - Aswin picked up a small glitch in the module which I have fixed. The duration for which each Aries ingress applies was incorrect.

Please update your version (1.137) from the link in the first post in this thread.

Thanks. Ed

Hi there - unfortunately this module has a terminal bug that I am unable to solve and is now withdrawn. If you have downloaded this module I recommend that you no longer use it.

There a fundamental problems with the calculation of the planetary day ruler and planetary hour ruler that I am unable to resolve.

My apologies. Ed

Sorry to hear Ed.
I'm quite sure it's not my code, it works in all my tests.
Greetings from Groningen Netherlands.

Hi Jean - I think it's very unlikely to be your code as it works in the other scripts without an issue. This script is very complex, requiring multiple changes of date/timezone and potentially location as well.

I'm continuing to debug it, but I won't be totally confident in this module for some time.

Hi - a small update for this module:

v.2.29 - added option to transfer four ingress charts to the main planetdance window

This allows each of the four main ingress charts for the year to be transferred to the main Planetdance window for further analysis, say, using the outer planets.

The latest beta is available above for testing.
