Local Horizon Question In The Planetdance Program
« on: October 09, 2023, 09:51:44 PM »
Hello All -

I would like to thank the developers of the Planetdance program.  It is absolutely BRILLIANT.  It is a great contribution to all in the astrological community.  I have 2 quick questions I was hoping someone would be able to answer.

Is it possible to use the time arrow buttons to advance a LOCAL HORIZON CHART either forward or backward in time?

The second thing I wanted to ask is if it is possible in the Planetdance program  to get the Azimuth data for  planet positions  to the Degree-Minute-Second  , rather than just Minutes and Seconds.  This would be extremely useful for Local Horizon Charts.  I have not seen an astrology program out there that has been able to do this.    I was hoping to be able to get Planetdance to get the azimuth positions down to the second, since I work a lot with Local Horizon Charts, and it would be very helpful.
I just became a member today and  am looking forward to being a part of this group.
Thank You very much.

Andy

P.S.  This is my first post, I hope I did it correctly.

Thanks Andy - I have moved your question to a separate board/topic. It's best not to mix up questions. I will reply tomorrow. Ed

Thank You Ed -

Sorry for mixing the two posts.  Didn't mean to.  I'll get the hang of it so I don't do it again.

Thanks again

Very Best Wishes

Andy

THANK YOU very much Jean.  That is great news.  If I'm not mistaken,
I think I have to download it after Oct.9 to get the seconds?  I downloaded planetdance a few weeks ago
so I guess I have to reload it?

Thanks again and My best wishes to you.

Andy

Hi Andy - thanks for your interest in Planetdance. I'm glad you are using the Local Horizon Horoscope module. It's one of the one's that I think is really important in Planetdance. I am planning to develop it in time, but at the moment I don't have much time to work on coding.

I have been planning to add the time adjustment function that you have requested, but it would require quite a bit of recoding. It's not impossible to do by any means, but needs some dedicated time to restructure the code.

It's important to update Planetdance very regularly as Jean and his team of volunteer coders are make frequent changes and improvements to the various scripts.

Thanks for getting in touch. Ed

Hi Andy - Jean will release an update later today for this module. The four data listings now include the seconds of altitude and azimuth.

Thanks. Ed

Hi Ed -

Thanks for responding and explaining the situation.  I am quite excited that the time function
is even possible.  That is fantastic news.  To my knowledge there is no program out there that can do this.
Including the big popular ones.  I talked with a few programmers but they won't even attempt to
implement it in their program.  As far as I can tell, you would be the first.

I think I noticed in some  of your articles that you are interested in Local Horizon stuff.  That is great.
I have to mention that I have already digested a great deal of your posts.
WOW !  I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy them.  Especially the sports betting ones.
Your posts absolutely resonate with me and speak my language.  I can't get enough of them.

Take Care And Best Wishes Always

Andy
