Ed Greek Horoscope
« on: September 02, 2020, 08:52:19 AM »
Hi there - Ed Greek Horoscope is due for a re-write. It's nearly three years since Jean and I worked on the original version of the module. It will be a long job to do this, so I am planning to work on it over the winter period.

If you have any feature requests or suggestions please put them in this thread.

The aim will be to include dynamic functionality (see new version of Medieval Traditional Chart) into the module and improve the interface.

The display is likely to include a combination of tabbed data screens with additional windows.

I can't promise to do everything, as the script is already extremely complicated, but do ask for additional features if you think they would add value to the module.

I'd be grateful if you could include sources or references for any techniques you wish to have included.

In order to preserve the integrity of the module, I will include only Hellenistic and classical techniques as the broad aim of the script is to show the horoscope as it might have been used by Greco-Roman astrologers.

Best wishes. Ed

Jean

I'm not sure about this but i'm having second thoughts about the best size of a script, in short, it's a pity that we have to support the laptop screensize. A recent poll at facebook showed a clear majority using full hd. And people using full hd are sometimes complaining about too small size. To be honest, i wouldn't mind if an important script like your greek would be full hd. I think if an astrologer is serieus about the software he'd use a decent monitor. But it's a tricky call.

Hi there - I'm preparing a significant update of Ed Greek Horoscope. This will be v.14.48, the largest update since November 2018. It will included new features, mainly in the aspect functions, but many code improvements and bug fixes. I will also record a series of videos to support the release. These will be available on Jean's youtube channel.

Hi there - this is an example of the output that will be available. This gives some guidance to the relation of each planet to the sun, planetary speed and so on.

Thanks. Ed

For me this touches a important issue. It's the same as a planet in the first or last degree of a sign close to ingress. A minute later or earlier and the sign changes. I do admit the validity of the request but this is just the way it works. You would not ask me to give an option to make 29.59 aries into 00.01 taurus now would you? :)

Maybe Ed is willing to give such an option in your case but this is how it looks to me. Why don't you change the birthtime a bit if you feel someone is definitely night or day sect?

Hi there - can you send me the data of the case please and then I can take a look at it. These are interesting charts and the questions often comes up about diurnal/nocturnal where the sun is very close to the ascendant.

Thanks. Ed
