Installing Plantedance on a Mac
« on: January 22, 2024, 09:14:37 AM »
Hi there,

I'm presenting you a free and solid way to install Planetdance on a Mac. I am using it and it's working like a charm. And it's free also, no hidden software or fees.

1) go to https://www.portingkit.com and download the Porting kit
2) after download it, drag the .dmg on Applications folder as usual and then launch it
3) go to "All apps" section and you'll see "Custom port"; click on it
4) follow all the steps indicated in the setup process and you'll be able to have Plantedance installed on your Mac

If you encounter any issues, please feel free to comment here, present your issue and I will help you.

PS: This Porting kit is useful for installing all windows apps on a Mac, not only this one.

Thanks Martien - welcome to the forum. I am not a mac user, but have installed Planetdance on Linux. This uses the same principle as described in this thread. Planetdance works well in Linux using Wine, so hopefully you will have similar success with Mac.

Good luck. Ed

I am a new member to the forum. Groningen, the city where Planetdance was born, was my special place for more than 10 years, culturally and educationally. Now, living and working as a psychic in Andalusia, Spain for almost 10 years. By an (alleged) coincidence, I picked up my interest in astrology again after 25 years, only as a supplement to my work. Came across this forum while looking for Planetdance for Mac. I wonder if I will be able to install the program on the Mac. It turns out that it is possible, as read “coincidentally” today, now that Pluto provides my Moon in Aquarius in house 11 with a conjunct: astrology is therefore fully in the picture. I hope to get some help from experienced experts on the forum in case of installation problems on the Mac. A Spanish greeting.

Hi Martien,

Please feel free to ask me whatever question you have regarding the Planetdance installation on Mac, since I already did it and using it without any issues at all.

Cheers!
All the best,

And at the end of the installation process, please uncheck the "Run PD when finish" and let the setup process in the backgroud finish

in that screen just press "Next" because I'm sure you already have the SetupPlanetdance.exe file downloaded, right?

Unfortunately, on vague description is a little bit difficult to help you.

Maybe you should restart the setup process and whenever you have questions, unclear things or issues / erros, it's better to provide scrrenshots, along with the details.

Did you, at some point, get to select the file 'SetupPlanetdance.exe'? That's the installer.

Martien,

After you set the path file of the Planetdance app in the Applications folder, you click on Install. Here, after you clicked install the setup is asking you to search for the SetupPlanetdance.exe
