Converse Solar Returns
« on: May 15, 2024, 09:47:25 AM »
I would like to know if there is a facility in any of the later versions for 'Converse' Solar returns* or Transits as well as the current Progressions.

*commonly used by Archie Dunlop on his youtube channel.

There are some converse progression techniques in horoscope progression. No plans on converse return sorry.

Hey Greg,
you can type in horoscope/return/solar  a negative age.
For example -1 for the 1. solarreturn before birth.

I just came here to ask the same question as OP, and the - technique works. Thanks Vol2  ;D

I still can't figure out how to do converse transits though, if anybody could help with that?

Hi there - you could try Progressions-Diurnal Horoscope. This calculates converse transits for a chosen date, as well as direct transits.

Hello Lisha, I didn't quite understand at first what reverse transit was meant to be.
I think you mean that the period from the time of birth to a certain date is subtracted from the time of birth and a transit chart is then made for this.
I have experimented a little and written a small program. That's enough for me, if you want more, you'll have to consult Jean and Ed.

Hi Volker - thanks for sharing this script. It has very similar functionality to Diurnal Horoscope. Comparing the calculations between the two, there seems to be a two-day discrepancy between mine and yours. I can get the scripts to agree if I add 2 days at this line to your script.

`time diff in jd
 jdDif = (jdnow - jdbirth) - zone + 2;

I'm trying to work out why. I'm not sure which script is right, but it would be good to have agreement between the two.

Thanks so much. Ed

Hi Volker - update:

If I just calculate a single converse date with my script, then both scripts give the same output, the problem must be something to do with my +/- days function, which your script does not have.

I will try and debug mine.

Thanks. Ed

Hi Volker - I have fixed the bug, thanks. I will forward the revised Diurnal Horoscope script to Jean tomorrow for the update. Ed

I used to regard these retrograde types of transits, solars and directions as a gimmick.
Now that I've experimented a little, I've noticed some interesting results.
A critical moment in my life is reflected in the time of my grandfather in WW2.
Perhaps this is also a way to track down epigenetic factors or traumas.
I will now look at these reflections of time more seriously.
